BEHIND SOCIALLY HOKU

As the world shut down in 2020, bedrooms turned into classrooms, parking lots turned into health clinics, and businesses turned into abandoned buildings, one by one. While disease and politics consumed our livelihoods, so did TikTok.

After watching the explosive growth of an app that seemed to be full of silly dance trends, I realized just how powerful of a tool this platform had become, reaching millions of people across the the globe. And that posed my big question-

Would these small local businesses have had a better chance at surviving the pandemic if they had a better social media presence?
